Another art competition! Reminds me of the time when I was young and I used to enter alot of coloring competitions. I once won a consolation prize: chocolate bars. Prizes for THESE competitions are a few thousand ringgits, but I wonder, if the principles are any different…
Anyway. Owned by YTL Corp, Starhill Gallery is… not really a gallery, but a glitzy shopping mall in downtown KL, that also happens to house a few galleries. Starhill Gallery Visual Arts Awards (VAA) is part of theĀ Starhill Gallery Arts Festival that runs from 1 – 30 July 2010. The festival’s theme is 1Malaysia. 1Passion. 1Celebration and the Visual Arts Awards theme is ‘NOW!’. Very urgent.
Judges for the competition are artists Jalaini Abu Hassan, Eric Quah and New York-based Eng Tay.
If you’re going to enter, please read the guidelines carefully. 6 prizes of RM5,000 will be awarded. However, the winning entries become the property of Starhill Gallery, so if you win, you won’t get to keep your artwork.
