If you weren’t able to get up early enough last Saturday morning to angkat rumah, here are some pictures, videos and links of the event conceptualised by filmmaker Liew Seng Tat with the support of Da Huang Pictures and Five Arts Centre. Projek Angkat Rumah saw more than 240 participants from all walks of life come together to display the sprit bergotong-royong as they undergo various ordeal over the more than one kilometre stretch in order to deliver a kampung house from a nearby school compound to Urbanscapes at KLPac. Once the kampung house was built and fastened to its site, the verandah was then converted into an open stage where dancing, performances and dress up acts lasted through the night.
