You are cordially invited to the
WINDS OF DESIRE Exhibition Opening
Wed 30 Jun | 8pm
Admission Free

Sutra Gallery, in association with Sutra Foundation, is proud to present “Winds of Desire”, a group art exhibition that showcases the rich and exceptional talents of 13 Malaysian artists of Indian & Sri Lankan descent.

“Winds of Desire” features works painting, sculpture and photography by new and established artists including Dr. S. Chanthiran, V. Chanthiran, Eric Peris, Indumathy, Jeganathan Ramachandran, Dr. Krishnan, K. Khrishnan, Michel Anthony, Nirmala Karuppiah, Syed Thajudeen, Sivam Selvaratnam, Sivarajah Natarajan and Steven Menon.

Due to the wide range of artists and arts practices, the exhibition offers a diverse repertoire of works ranging from the lyrical to the expressionistic, from the figurative to the abstract, from the classical approach to the post modern.

“Winds of Desire” takes one into the core of the creative act – what makes an artist tick and how this impulse is multifariously expressed and manifested via the personality and the resultant interactive encounter with his or her milieu. “Winds of Desire” is about the unquenchable inner call to express oneself; to communicate the gift of talent; to express a message after having digested an experience; to ultimately fulfill one’s inherent ‘desire’ to ‘be’. In “Winds of Desire”, an artist is compelled to create despite all of life’s challenges.
