ARTERI’s relaunch signals a renewed commitment on our part to continue what we set out to do a year ago, mainly to blog about what we like best about contemporary art and culture in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Over the past year, this would not have been possible without the generous support of many collaborators (we regard everyone, including our readers as partners in this project!) who have spent time contributing, reading, and commenting on our blog, not to mention those who have taken time to provide us with compliments as well as criticisms. These suggestions that have helped us create a much more vibrant art community that while engaged in local issues and concerns, is also aware of the immensely creative undertakings across Southeast Asia.
On the many long and drawn-out editorial meetings that we had, one of the commitments that we very much like to see through is the sustainability of ARTERI as an online blog that makes the enjoyment and understanding of contemporary art in Malaysia and Southeast Asia possible and FREE to the broadest range of visitors. For the past one year, the blog has been entirely staffed by volunteers who juggled between ARTERI and their rent-paying jobs. We realise that while this is fueled by our passion and enthusiasm, there might come a time when the burn-out happens. In order to ensure ARTERI’s sustainability we will need your help. We want you to come on as collaborators on this project of ours, to be part of our fun, dynamic, crazy, art-loving team.
Just what type of collaborators are we looking for?

VOLUNTEERS
If you have a few hours to spare each week, we would love to have you come on board to help us run the blog. You don’t have to be a writer to be a volunteer! Volunteers can help us in a lot of areas, from marketing and publicity to managing our events calendar, from data-entry to covering art events around town (we love photos afterall). Volunteers need to work independently, just like how most of us work anyway, and what’s good about it is that it’s a great way of contributing to our growing art scene without letting it take over your life!
EDITORS/WRITERS/CONTRIBUTORS/BLOGGERS
But wait, you say you want to take on a much more active role? How about joining us as an editor? Blogger? Contributor? Blogging about contemporary art and culture around Malaysia and Southeast Asia can be really fun! Besides it’s a good excuse to catch shows and events that you put off because of laziness. You don’t have to be an artsy fartsy intellectual to write for us. We’re a blog and we want to write for people who are interested in the arts, not put them off art for the rest of their lives! If you’ve a relatively good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin, and can come up with creative content that you would like to share with everyone, we want you on board!
