Urbanscapes is back, thanks to the amazing busy bees at Freeform (they’re the ones who pour insane amounts of energy into KLUE and JUNK magazines, plus my personal favorite fashion blog Tongue In Chic). For those who don’t know, Urbanscapes is an all-day creative arts festival featuring the best music, film, art, fashion and fun that KL has to offer. I was at last year’s edition and was blown away by the great vibe of all kinds of people just soaking in creativity.

ARTERI is really proud and excited to be part of this year’s festival. We’re manning a little booth where you can come and staple together your own ‘zine’, and we’ve commissioned some great artists to create the pages for us. It’s a modest project, because we’re still finding our feet, but we hope it reflects the kind of fun, open platform that ARTERI hopes to become. Our other proposal was a ‘sand art’ booth, where instead of the usual Hello Kitty and cartoon characters, you got to do sand art based on iconic Malaysian paintings! (Tell me you love it. You know you do!) Sadly, time and budget constraints means that we’ll have to file that one away in our ‘must do’ cabinet.

They recently held a Facebook contest where people could win free tickets by posting an Urbanscapes related status update.
