THE SELFISH CROCODILE

Our frightened forest friends are back to warm your hearts – and tickle you silly! This best-selling children’s story by Faustin Charles and Michael Terry comes to life in this delightful stage adaptation by UK’s Blunderbus Theatre Company. The 50-minute show tells the story of a crocodile who terrorized the frightened forest animals who attempted to get near the river, and how one kind and courageous mouse changed everything! Starring Jeanette Susan Longworth, Simon James Sanchez and Sophie Roch, this magical tale comes to life with music, song, and a host of wicked papier-mache puppets! The show first debuted in KL at the Actors Studio in Bangsar Shopping Centre in 2008, with fantastic response to their giant puppetry, catchy songs and quirky characters. Since then, Blunderbus has also performed Giraffes Can’t Dance (2010) and Elmer The Elephant (March 2011) in KL.
The Selfish Crocodile teaches positive messages like honesty, compassion and the importance of friendship- while reminding kids that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness are the ones that often have the greatest impact. This story written especially for children aged 4 to 7, but adults will find the show thoroughly entertaining too! The show runs in conjunction with International School Library Month in October, World Animal Day on 4th October and World Teacher’s Day on 5th October.

Reviews:

“Children can see past us although we are visibly there. They have fantastic imagination and they respond well to the puppets. So it’s important to believe in the jokes, as children know when you’re pretending.” The entire performance exuded fun and enthusiasm.
– The Star ( Malaysia)

Blunderbus Theatre much enhances its reputation with this vividly presented show, which greatly amuses and always delights both young children and adults.
