In today’s hectic dog-eat-dog government sector environment, many of our hardworking government workers find it hard to spare some time to appreciate the very exciting art scene that Kuala Lumpur has to offer. In order to promote the arts among government workers, CIPAN would like to suggest several exciting ways in which art appreciation can be combined with many of our nation’s favourite weekend activities.

Suggestions For Lunch Time Activities In KL For Busy Government Workers is a 13 episode series aimed at promoting the arts among government workers. CIPAN presents Episode 2: Kite Flying In An Art Gallery:

This has just made my Friday. Guys this is hilarious, I LOVE it.

OMG when he takes off with the kite at the end, I burst out laughing. Playfulness! Lets not forget how important absurdity is in contemporary art in Malaysia! It can say little or big things but at least above all its entertaining which is an important part of art!!

Can’t wait for the next one.

As a part-time government worker/kuli kerajaan I thank CIPAN for giving much needed recognition to public servants. I now understand that day-to-day pleasures go beyond extended tea breaks and seminars with complimentary bihun goreng, roti jala and take home tote bags. But I must ask, what is the relation of your work to Y.A.B. Dato’ Sri PM’s concept of 1Malaysia?

[…] Annexe Gallery: noun: cool space next to Central Market in China Town. Run by fun, passionate crazies. Lots of little artist spaces which are now starting to disappear (miss you Rice Cooker). Top floor spaces has been the site for numerous large scale performances, talks, exhibitions, parties and who knows what else. Quite recently, now also the entertainment space for busy government works at lunchtime. See here and here. […]

    Hi Gallery Search,

This was shot at Findars gallery. Unfortunately the space no longer exists. Findars is now a concept and remains a collective. They can be found at http://findars.blogspot.com
