THE BEST ART SHOW IN THE UNIVERS
Seksan’s Gallery – 67, Jalan Tempinis Satu

Opening hours: Mon – Saturday 12pm – 6pm

It’s not everyday you get to see the most exciting and deranged young talents – chi too, Dill Malik and Munkao – show off to the world what awesome gifts of insight the almighty God has bestowed upon them.

THE BEST ART SHOW IN THE UNIVERS, conceived as an irreverent and humorous affront on the delicate good taste of the Malaysian art world, brings together three overly sensitive creative new age souls who hope to impart light and truth through the ‘incestuous amplification’ of their intellectually stimulating artworks.

Be prepared to experience the most intense, electrifying, life-changing, soul-satisfying, cerebrally-engaging exhibition ever put together in our universe as these artists present new works in video, photography, performance, installation, conceptual painting and many other mediums that they hope will one day make it into the collection of our very own Balai Seni Lukis Negara (National Art Gallery).

Come join us in the upper middle class part of town as we clink beer cans in a swishy gallery space on our opening night 1 October 2009 at 8PM. In conjunction with the opening night, there will be a special radical socio-political conceptual vegetarian cooking show hosted by Munkao at 8.30PM.

Opening Night Request – Guests who drive are asked to park their cars over at Lucky Gardens shop houses instead of the residential neighbourhood to avoid causing traffic inconveniences. The back door to 67, Jalan Tempinis Satu will be opened and candle-lit to help you identify our location. Please refer to map below:

The Injun temple and a Seek place near Jalan Maalof. it’s missing from the universal map! so is the gospel shop on telawi.

thank you master for reminding us how the cursed gew owned google is puffing up maoslim pride and sowing discord amongst myxians to further their evil plans.

we the followers of SS will not be fooled!

we will gather at lucky gardens, and harness our cosmic energy. make pilgrimage to the art temple in silence. when our 222th member arrives, the gates will be locked, and the 3 diciples of Loki will perform a blood sacrifice using the curator’s rabbit white body OH jOYY anarchy will be released, the madness will spread, covering the entire map in red oh master heil heil heil! We are coming!

Glory to the 5th reich!DEATH TO HUMANS!

Congrats on the best art show in univers. Was the curator the fourth artist in the show? Or the first? Was the curator an equal partner? Dear artists (and curator), please share with us your process of working together.

    Dear Commonpeople,

I think the curator would not be called the curator if he/she is an artist :) Like most curators, I wrote an incomprehensible essay to justify the incomprehensible show. It feels like playiing an obscure sound sampling DJ more than a composer this time round. The young doesn’t listen to classical music anyway.

    Hi commonpeople,

I think the whole process of working on the show, has been largely very fluid from the start. It came to a point when we realised that Simon’s involvement as a curator has been so fundamental to how the show pieced itself together, that his involvement, his duties and his relationship to the three of us became part of the art in the show.

    Simon,

au contraire, we had opera music playing in the background during the opening loh.
