INTRODUCTION TO ASIA ART ARCHIVE: A Talk by Phoebe Wong
Thu 28 May, 8pm
Annexe Gallery

Free Admission

Presented by ARTERI & The Annexe Gallery

~

ARTERI & The Annexe Gallery are delighted to present a talk by Phoebe Wong from the Asia Art Archive (http://www.aaa.org.hk). In this informal talk, Phoebe will introduce the role that AAA plays as an archival organisation for contemporary art in Asia.

AAA is established with the aim “to collect, preserve and make information on contemporary Asian art easily accessible in order to facilitate understanding, research and writing in the field.”

Acknowledging its position as more than a static collection of material waiting to be discovered, AAA has been pro-active in instigating dialogue and critical thinking through its educational and public programmes, and in introducing as wide an audience as possible to this rich resource.

Phoebe will also relate to us her personal experiences working at AAA, which she joined in October 2002 as a researcher for Hong Kong art. She now heads the Research team. Accompanied by a slide projection of the many projects she has undertaken, the talk is an accessible introduction on contemporary art in Asia.
